About MR Transport Management

Transport expertise you can actually talk to.

I'm an experienced transport professional based in west central Scotland, working as an external transport manager for new and growing operators who need reliable compliance support without the cost of a full-time hire.

Why I do this work

I've spent my career in and around transport operations — from the practical realities of keeping vehicles on the road to the regulatory demands of operator licensing and DVSA compliance. I've seen first-hand how difficult it can be for new operators to navigate a system that often feels designed to trip you up.

The rules are complex, the paperwork is relentless, and the consequences of getting it wrong — a licence revocation, a prohibition notice, a Traffic Commissioner hearing — can be devastating for a small business. Most new operators don't need a full-time transport manager. What they need is someone with the right knowledge who's available when it matters.

That's exactly what I offer. I work with a deliberately small number of operators so that every client gets my genuine attention — not a generic compliance checklist, but practical, tailored support from someone who understands your specific operation and the pressures you're under.

How I work

Every operator I work with is different. Some are brand new to the industry and need guidance on everything from their first licence application to setting up a maintenance system. Others have been operating for a while but want to tighten up their compliance or deal with a specific issue.

I start by understanding your operation — your vehicles, your drivers, your routes, and your current systems. From there, I give you an honest picture of where you stand and what needs to happen. No unnecessary complexity, no upselling services you don't need.

My goal is always the same: to make sure you're operating legally, confidently, and without the constant worry that something's been missed. When you work with me, you have a knowledgeable partner in your corner — someone you can call with a question and get a straight answer.

Let's have a conversation.

If you're a new or small operator in west central Scotland and you'd like to know more about how I can help, I'd be happy to talk through your situation — no obligation, no sales pitch.
